You can read it here. Rufus shares his keen sense of fun in this brief interview with metro.co.uk: Can you do any magic tricks? I used to have a magic trick which involved a bit of fag ash. I’d drag it out as a last-ditch attempt to get the attention of a girl I was trying to impress. It involves depositing a small amount of ash about her person and then revealing it later on – hey presto – as if it had just arrived there. I don’t remember how I did it. I never did it sober. Do women find being covered in cigarette ash irresistible? It was slightly more successful than you’d imagine but not very much. You can read the rest of the interview here. With Rufus away in Thailand filming Vinyan you can get a jump start on your trip to Broadway this October to see Rock 'n' Roll. Here is what Rufus had to say when asked about his career: In Their Prime: Rufus Sewell Age: 39 Training: Central School of Speech and Drama Coming up: Vinyan, a film by Fabrice Du Welz set in Thailand and co-starring Emmanuelle Beart. Also in John Adams, a seven-part HBO series about the early days of America. Big break: Being directed in Macbeth at Central by Judi Dench, whose agent took him on after seeing the play. I remember going to LA for the first time and being introduced as a Shakespearean actor. I hadn't done any Shakespeare but I didn't correct the guy in case he gave me a job.' Proud of being British? Rufus' audio book -
The History of
the Adventures of Joseph Andrews and his Friend Mr Abraham Adams
by Henry Fielding is now
available for download from Silk Sound Books.
In style and form it
imitates Cervantes Don Quixote, with the servant and master
undertaking their major journey together, but the sexual adventures of
the young Joseph Andrews and his sorely tested chastity provide the
real meat of the book’s plot. Described by Fielding as ‘a
comic-romance’ Joseph Andrews is a bawdy and merry book. Already planning your trip to see Rufus on Broadway? Playbill.com has added Rock 'n' Roll to their official list of upcoming shows.
