Uncorked/Higher Love/At Sachem Farm is a feel good movie about following your bliss whose subtitle could be “Don’t Worry Be Happy”. The protagonist is a young unemployed stockbroker named Ross who is desperately trying to make the one successful investment that will provide his family financial solvency, and induce his reluctant girlfriend to marry him. His efforts are thwarted along the way by his Uncle Cullen, dismissed by his girlfriend Kendal, and unnoticed by his Brother Paul who has been consumed creating an expensive arboretum on the farm for the past two years.

Ross, good intentioned but lacking in personal insight, has stubbornly focused on goals that will if realized, benefit neither himself nor his family. Uncle Cullen is a man of advancing years attempting to share gained wisdom with his nephew by interfering with his plans while seeking to reach his own personal nirvana. There appears to be no limit to the heights he will go to in order to teach his lessons, and set his family and friend’s lives on the paths he perceives as correct.

Ross is strained practically to the breaking point by his Uncles apparent lunacy, his girlfriend’s refusal to support his venture, and his gentle brother’s lack of involvement with his effort to save the family farm. Uncle Cullen enlists the help of a friend of Kendal’s named Laurie whom he describes as “the young girl with the old soul” to bring his plans to fruition.
